Dukaan Babu Terms of Use

Version 0.2-draft. In force from DUMMY — date these pages take effect (YYYY-MM-DD). Last updated 2026-10-08.

In short

1. Who we are

1.1. Dukaan Babu is run by DUMMY — Legal name of the business that runs Dukaan Babu (DUMMY — Sole proprietorship, LLP or private limited company), DUMMY — Full postal address with PIN code. Website: https://dukaanbabu.com. Customer care: DUMMY — customer-care email (mailbox not created yet), DUMMY — customer-care phone number (DUMMY — hours the phone is answered, e.g. 10:00 to 18:00, Monday to Saturday).

1.2. "We" and "us" mean DUMMY — Legal name of the business that runs Dukaan Babu. "You" means the person who uses the app or the website.

1.3. Dukaan Babu is an online marketplace that connects you with shops near you. In law we are an "intermediary" and a "marketplace e-commerce entity".

2. What we do and what we do not do

2.1. We show you shops near you, their goods and their prices, and we pass your order and your messages to the shop.

2.2. We do not sell anything. We own no goods and keep no stock.

2.3. We do not set or change any price. Each shop sets its own prices.

2.4. We do not deliver. The shop delivers, or you collect from the shop.

2.5. We do not take your money. You pay the shop directly, by UPI to the shop's own UPI ID or in cash. We never receive, hold or refund your payment.

2.6. We charge you no fee: no platform fee, no convenience fee and no cancellation charge. A delivery charge, if any, is set by the shop and paid to the shop.

2.7. Before a shop is listed, we look at a photo of its shop board or licence. This is not a check of the shop's goods, licences or conduct. The shop is responsible for what it sells.

3. Your purchase is with the shop

3.1. When you place an order, your contract of sale is with that shop. We are not a party to it.

3.2. The shop is responsible for the goods, their price and quality, any bill or receipt, delivery, returns and refunds.

3.3. The shop may change your order, for example when an item is out of stock or it offers a substitute. The app shows you the change, and you can accept it or say no.

3.4. You can cancel an order yourself while it is still "placed", before the shop accepts it. After that, ask the shop in the order chat.

3.5. A shop can refuse a new order, and it can cancel an order that is not yet finished.

3.6. We may stop an open order only in three cases: clear signs of fraud, a risk to someone's safety, or a court or government order that requires it. We never stop an order for any other reason, and we never change its items or prices. Stopping takes the order off the app; it does not decide the sale between you and the shop.

3.7. Before you order, the shop page shows the shop's name, the owner's name, photos and the shop's place on the map. Ask us at DUMMY — customer-care email (mailbox not created yet) for the shop's address and other details we hold.

3.8. After you order, the app shows you the shop's phone number.

4. Paying the shop

4.1. If you pay by UPI, the app opens your own UPI app with the shop's UPI ID. Check the shop's name in your UPI app before you pay.

4.2. Pay only the shop you ordered from. Dukaan Babu will never ask you to pay us.

4.3. We do not check or confirm payments between you and the shop.

4.4. Problems about money are between you and the shop. We can help you reach the shop (section 9).

5. Who can use Dukaan Babu

5.1. You must be 18 years or older to create an account or place an order.

5.2. You must be able to make a binding contract under Indian law.

5.3. Without an account you can look at shops as a guest. A guest cannot order, chat, upload or report.

6. Your account

6.1. You sign in with your mobile number.

6.2. Use only a number that you own. Never share a sign-in code with anyone. Dukaan Babu staff will never ask you for it.

6.3. You are responsible for what is done from your account. Tell us at once at DUMMY — customer-care email (mailbox not created yet) if you think someone else is using it.

6.4. You can delete your account at any time: open Me, scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete my account". Our Privacy Policy says what happens to your data then.

7. Rules for using Dukaan Babu

7.1. Use Dukaan Babu only to find shops, order goods and talk to shops about your orders.

7.2. Do not post, send, upload or share anything (text, voice, photo or list) that:

7.3. Also do not:

7.4. If you break these rules we may remove the content, limit your account, or suspend or end it (section 10). More on how we remove content is in our content rules.

8. How shops are ordered on the screen

8.1. Nearby shops. Shops that deliver to where you are come first, nearest first. We show at most 50 shops.

8.2. Sponsored shops. A shop marked "Sponsored" that delivers to you can appear above other shops that deliver to you. It always carries the label "Sponsored". A Sponsored shop that does not deliver to you does not move up. No shop pays for this.

8.3. No location. If we do not know where you are, open shops come first, then shops in A to Z order. A guest without a location sees a sample list.

8.4. Search. Results are ordered by how well the item matches your words, then items in stock, then distance, then price. Sponsored status does not change search results.

8.5. We do not rank shops by ratings. No shop can pay or ask to change results.

8.6. If we change how ranking works, we update this section first.

9. Complaints

9.1. About an order. Open the order and tap "Problem with this order?". You can do this until 48 hours after delivery. The shop sees it and should settle it with you; the shop gives any refund.

9.2. About a person in chat. Open the chat and tap "Report". You can also block the person.

9.3. Anything else, or if the shop does not fix it: write to our Grievance Officer. The steps, timelines and our contact details are on our complaints page.

9.4. Keep the date and time you sent your complaint, and use them when you write again.

9.5. The IT Rules set how fast a complaint must be confirmed (currently 24 hours) and decided (currently 7 days). The full process is on our complaints page.

9.6. If you are not satisfied you can contact the National Consumer Helpline (1915, consumerhelpline.gov.in), file a consumer complaint, or, for a decision about content, appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee (gac.gov.in) within 30 days.

9.7. Legal notices to us go to DUMMY — person who receives legal notices, DUMMY — legal-notice email (mailbox not created yet), DUMMY — Full postal address with PIN code.

10. Suspension and ending your account

10.1. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or end an account:

10.2. Where it is safe and lawful, we tell you why, and you can reply through the complaints process (section 9).

10.3. You can stop using Dukaan Babu and delete your account at any time.

10.4. We keep removed content and its record for at least 180 days, or longer if the law asks. Our Privacy Policy gives the details.

11. Our responsibility

11.1. We run the app with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise that it will always work or never have errors.

11.2. The shop is responsible for the goods and the sale (section 3). We are not responsible for a shop's goods, prices, delivery or refunds, except where the law makes a marketplace responsible.

11.3. We are not responsible for indirect loss, such as lost profit, unless the law says otherwise.

11.4. Nothing in these terms limits:

12. Your content

12.1. You keep your rights in what you send (messages, voice notes, photos).

12.2. You allow us to store it, show it to the shop or person it is meant for, and process it to run the service, for as long as our Privacy Policy says.

12.3. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

13. Privacy

How we collect, use, keep and delete your data is explained in our Privacy Policy. Your consent to that use is asked for separately; it is not part of accepting these terms.

14. Law and courts

14.1. Indian law governs these terms.

14.2. The courts at DUMMY — city whose courts hear disputes have jurisdiction, subject to 14.3.

14.3. Nothing in 14.2 stops you from filing a consumer complaint where the Consumer Protection Act 2019 allows, including where you live or work.

15. Changes to these terms

15.1. We may change these terms, for example when the law or the app changes.

15.2. For an important change we tell you in the app at least 15 days before it takes effect. If the law needs a faster change, we tell you as soon as we can.

15.3. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account before it takes effect. A change that affects how we use your data is never accepted just by using the app; we ask for your consent again.

15.4. The version and date at the top show the current terms. Earlier versions are available on request at DUMMY — customer-care email (mailbox not created yet).

16. Language

These terms will be available in all 12 app languages. If two language versions differ, the English version applies, except where the law requires otherwise.
